A real short comic

Something I realized that I forgot to post earlier, some more painting practice for fun:

The rabbigon gets a narrow save from the dragox by the sudden appearance of a greater draugar. There's always a bigger fish! ...Er, dragon.

CTN Animation Expo

On Saturday I went to the CTN Animation Expo, and it was awesome! I ended up spending the whole day there, going to the panels, watching the demos and meeting up with all sorts of awesome people. I also got to see "Banjo the Woodpile Cat" and "The Secret of Kells," both of which I hadn't seen before. And the animation was gorgeous! I was glad to meet up with a bunch of people there, so I definitely have to go back next year.

And also, just a painting from awhile back that I realized I hadn't posted anywhere yet:

Disneyland Sketch Day

Spent the day at Disneyland on my own today, and did a whole ton of drawings. This is the first time I've ever gone and not gone on a single ride. XDa At least I got a bunch of people-watching and sketching in.

Just a bunch of peoplewatching sketches:

And did a bunch of blind contour pages:

I also started doing a bunch of face drawings. It was actually really helpful to do a bunch of these. :O

I also sat in on the Christmas parade! I was lucky to find a curbside spot, so I did a bunch of sketches of the dancers.

I also went and drew the Tom Sawyer landing across the Rivers of America! I think every time I go to do this I'll stop to draw some piece of architecture too, since I need practice on those.

Aaaand finally, just stopped by the animation building (aah such love) and messed around with my own characters for a bit.

Few, and now I'm pretty tired!

Art dump

Some art stuff I've been doing lately, in-between working on commissions for dA. Everything's done either in pencil and ink, or Photoshop and Sketchbook Pro.

First some of those musical warmups: for these, I like to scour iTunes until I find a song that I like, then paint something based on the mood/lyrics/general feel of the song. It's a lot of fun!

And then some random character sketches:

And finally, more of these strange animal pictures:

Dissecting owl pellets in biology takes a dark turn for Brittany, whose parents vanished when she was just six years old.

Meanwhile, Kevin is just trying to take notes because he really needs a good grade.

Ms. Skiffly attends the social in her fabulous new dress. This skin cost her a bundle, so she's eager to show it off to all the socialites at the party.

After the high school prom, Mandy and Chuck take a boat out onto the lake so that they can get in some serious makeout time. But just when things start to get a little too sexy, they are attacked by the monster of Lake Turbulent! AND WERE NEVER SEEN AGAIN. o_o

First post

Well, I had a Blog a looong long time ago, but I thought I'd try it out again mostly for art purposes. So I'll be posting a bunch of the art (especially in-process stuff) I work on here, while my LiveJournal and DeviantArt are more for fannish things.

Hope everyone likes it!
